Dr. Aweis Ahmed is a lecturer and researcher who has been in academia for more than a decade and taught undergraduate and postgraduate classes in various academic institutions in Somalia. His teaching and research interests focus on international relations theories, foreign policy analysis, Somali foreign policy, and politics and society in the Horn of Africa. He holds a PhD in International Relations from Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University in Turkey and an M.A. in the same field from Selçuk University in Turkey. Before that, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Public Administration at Mogadishu University and earned a diploma in Law. Dr. Aweis is a qualified academician with scholarly publications, having presented numerous academic papers at international symposia, and frequently writes and comments on foreign and security issues related to Somalia and the Horn region. At SIMAD Graduate School’s International Relations Department, Dr. Aweis Ahmed contributes over a decade of extensive scholarly experience to postgraduate education, academic mentorship, and research supervision.
