Dr. Fosi Kofal is a petroleum engineer and gas purification specialist with expertise in carbon capture and natural gas conditioning. He holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering (UTM, 2018) and a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s degree (UTM, 2013). He is currently a Senior Visiting Researcher at AMTEC, UTM, and Senior Lecturer in Petroleum Engineering.

His experience includes PETRONAS-sponsored research on CO₂ capture, serving as Research Officer at PETRONAS Research (2013–2017), General Manager at HYRPIA Somaliland (2021–2022), and Executive Director at SORADI Somaliland (2019–2021). He also supervises graduate students and continues to bridge academic research with industrial applications in the energy sector.
