Dr. Fosi M. Kofal is a Senior Lecturer in Petroleum Engineering and Senior Visiting Researcher at the Advanced Membrane Technology Centre (AMTEC), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He holds a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s degree and a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from UTM. His research focuses on carbon capture, natural gas conditioning, and membrane-based separation technologies. Previously, he worked as a Research Officer at PETRONAS Research Sdn. Bhd. and later held executive positions at the Social Research and Development Institute (SORADI) and the Hydrocarbon Risk Protection Independent Authority (HYRPIA) in Somaliland. He supervises graduate students and continues to bridge academic research with industrial applications in the energy sector.
